Anton Pieters followed on from his namesake, Anton Oosthuizen to take the 2012 Worcester Open title by three shots on Saturday.

Anton posted the solitary sub par round in the morning after signing for a one under par 71 to take a one shot lead over home course player Hattingh de Villiers and Cedric Rooi who is a proven winner. Defending Champion, Anton Oosthuizen was grouped another shot back on 73 (+1).

Anton Pieters did not have it all plain saling though as he saw his one shot lead lost after a third nine 39 which saw him slip to 2 over par and in danger of losing his grasp on the title. Anton's final nine holes though left nothing to chance as he covered the notorius Worcester back 9 holes in 30 shots (-6).

Anton's two round total of 140 (-4) was good enough for a 3 shot win over Belville (and ex Worcester member) De Waal Botha who signed for rounds of 74 + 69.

In total, the Worcester Golf course only gave up 5 sub par rounds on the day.
