The 2010 Sanlam Cancer Regional Final for the Boland Golf Union was played today at the picturesque Langebaan Country Estate in near perfect weather conditions. With a well manicured course and a mild breeze welcoming players, it was left to them and the course to decide the winners of the Regional Final.

The players took to the course with a first start time of 09h00 and the field was led out by the C and B division on both tees.

As the scores were returned, it was evident that the Langebaan Country Estate did not need the dreaded wind to defend it as no player managed to over power the course with the best result of the day being 3 x 39 pointers all returned in the B division neccesitating a countout.

In the end, the top 3 scores in each division were:

A Division:

JW van Eeden    38 points (7 Hcp - Montagu GC)
N van Wyk        37 points (7 Hcp - Bonnievale GC) on count out
A Miggels          37 points (7 Hcp - Vredenburg GC)

B Division:

G Pollastrini       39 points (12 Hcp - Devonvale GC) on count out
T Erasmus          39 points (14 Hcp - Montagu GC) on count out
J Durr                 39 points (12 Hcp - Moorreesburg GC) on count out

C Division:

C Dames          37 points (20 Hcp - Langebaan GC)
J Perold            35 points (17 Hcp - Hermanus GC)
S Nieuwoudt    34 points (14 Hcp - Ceres GC)

It was unfortunately dissapointing again to see 9 of the 80 players entered not arriving on the day!

The Boland Golf Union salutes the members and clubs of the Boland Golf  Union who through the club golf days collected in excess of R100 000-00 towards CANSA.

The Union wishes the winning players from each division all the best at the national Finals to be played at the Sun City Resort at the end of October.
