The Kuilsrivier "B" League team today won the 2010 Brodie League title in a match which proved to be tighter then the final score suggests.

Going into the League Finals, one would have been excused for thinking that the Kuilsrivier team held the upper hand as pre event favourites, but if this was the case, the team from Robertson had decided not to read the script!

In a tense first day, the Robertson team won the last two matches on the course to take the teams into a tie overnight on 4 - 4, thus setting up a fantastic prospect on the final day.

With everything in the balance, the mood of both teams was fantastic at the League Final dinner hosted by the Boland Golf Union on the Saturday evening. With a full turnout of team members as well as the wives and partners of numerous of the team members, the teams got down to a good dinner which was closed with short speeches by each of the team Captains.

At the start of play on Sunday morning, the two teams continued to be in high spirits as the matches got underway. At the end of the day, the Kuilsrivier side just managed to hold on and perform better under the gun as they stretched into a 5.5 - 2.5 win on the day and thus took the trophy, 9.5 - 6.5.

The Boland Golf Union President and Executive in attendance would like to congratulate each of the clubs which competed for the title and commend them on the manner in which their teams conducted them selves and for the manner in which the game was played.
